Cliffs of MoherCounty Clare is blessed with one of the most beautiful landscapes, & topographys in the world. The Majestic Cliffs of Moher towering 700 ft from the Atlantic Ocean, are just 7k's from Doolin Village. To the north of Doolin is the Burren National Park, estimated to be over to be over 200 million years old, where the remains of a sub-tropical ocean bed exists. A glacier then meandered thru' there almost 15,000 years ago and gouged out one of the most spectacular landscapes in the world! It's amazing! Bring plenty of spools, or another Memory Stick. Your not going to delete much on this trip!

historic sitesNumerous prehistoric & Historical Sites aplenty throughout our Beautiful Countryside, with many ring forts and Castles like Doonagore Castle, which dates back to the early 14th Century and was built by Teigue Mac Turlough O'Connor. He was the ruling landlord in the area, and, according to folklore, he was extremely fond of the Bunratty Mead (sweet honey wine with enough alcohol % to launch a Space Shuttle!) He was a celebrated musician / storyteller and enjoyed the laid back approach to life. It's obvious that Mr MacTurlough O'Connor has very many decendents in the area to this day!!

Dough Castle, LahinchOther notable relics include Dough Castle. This was a sentry post to the ruling Earl of Thomond, and was built in 1574 by Donough Mac Donall O'Connor.

Psssst! It's amazing here! Check out our links, for more 'learnered' information on the Burren & Co.Clare
The Earl resided at what's now the World Famous Bunratty Castle. Check out the Medieval Banquet held every night during the Summer. It really is a Great Night Out if you want the Traditional Irish Night. It's highly recommended!! The whole area is steeped in history with Irish Folklore and Fables aplenty! Just ask the locals in the Pubs about the area. Better still.... buy him a pint, and you'll hear some 'quare stories for sure!!!
